Miniature Craft, which forms the basis for the traditional Turkish painting, was primarily employed for informative purposes within the manuscripts and served for a certain objective. When woman imageries are examined in the Ottomans miniature, it is seen that women have been portrayed in different ways. The status of Ottomans woman in the society and the roles cast for her are understood in these depictions. The purpose of this study is to make it clear thanks to examples which places and how woman imagery was seen, how it has undergone changes according to societal hierarchy and how women were portrayed in the course of this societal period of change in the Ottomans miniature. In addition, the aim of this research is to determine why the studies concerning the woman imageries in those periods were dealt with late, which miniature works were concentrated on and what kind of role the Ottomans woman played in the pictures here. Another purpose of this study is to bring a new source in the literature by considering it from the viewpoint of reality of art in the physical and psychological aspect of violence to women today, in the meantime, to make contribution to the increase of the researches carried out on the problems of women and women studies.
